How Can I help?
I support older adults and their families through meaningful connection, gentle social support, and calm guidance through the aged care system. My approach is personal, consistent, and human, shaped by my background as a Social Worker and teacher, and a genuine love of connection.
I offer therapeutic, relationship based support informed by over 14 years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker and teacher in aged care and community settings. This support goes beyond general companionship. Time together is guided by professional skill, with conversations held with care, depth, and ethical awareness, while engaging in everyday activities such as walking, gardening, cooking, or creative projects.
While this is not formal therapy, it is professional social work support that is present, attuned, and grounded in experience.
Personal Social Support
Connection looks different for everyone. In my work, it is often built naturally through shared moments rather than formal conversations. This may include going for a walk, sharing a cup of tea, doing puzzles or cards, spending time in the garden, or engaging in everyday activities together.
Support may also involve being alongside someone during simple daily activities, where doing something together can create ease, comfort, and genuine connection. These moments often open space for conversation, reflection, and emotional support, without pressure or expectation.
Aged Care Guidance
I support families to navigate the aged care system with clarity and reassurance, with a particular focus on Support at Home services and helping people remain living at home where possible.
This support begins with taking the time to understand your situation and talk things through together. I assist with preparing and submitting a My Aged Care referral, ensuring the information clearly reflects your needs. There is space to ask questions along the way, and you receive a copy of what is submitted so the process feels transparent and easy to understand.
My role is to support the referral process and help you feel prepared. My Aged Care will then determine whether an assessment is required and arrange this if appropriate. If an assessment is offered, I can support families to understand what to expect and feel more confident going into the process.
This guidance is practical, calm, and supportive, designed to reduce stress and make the system feel more manageable, without taking over or overwhelming you.
Connection and Chemistry
I believe connection and chemistry matter. Just like any meaningful support relationship, it’s important that it feels right for everyone involved.
I offer an initial, no-pressure conversation so we can see whether working together feels comfortable and aligned. If it does, beautiful. If it doesn’t, that’s completely okay. The right support should feel natural, not forced.
What to Expect
Support is tailored to your needs and circumstances, with flexibility around timing and location. Sessions may take place in your home or via Zoom, and I work in a way that is calm, respectful, and responsive.
Let’s Talk
If this approach resonates with you, I’d welcome a gentle conversation to see whether To Be Connect feels like the right fit for you or your family.
“To Be Connect provides personal social support and aged care guidance. It does not replace medical, mental health, legal, or emergency services. If urgent or complex concerns arise, appropriate supports will be discussed.”
